Don't Let Rising Temperatures Create Health Risks!

Following record-level temperatures in Turkey, Infinity Regenerative Clinic Medical Director Specialist Dr. Yıldıray Tanrıver noted that heart, diabetes, blood pressure, and chronic diseases can be triggered in individuals. He emphasized: "Especially those with chronic illness, heart disease, the elderly, diabetes patients, children, and those over 50-55 years of age should pay much closer attention." Specialist Dr. Tanrıver stated that Tests, Screening, and Consultation (TSC) should be performed after summer heat to measure all body metrics and check for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and electrolyte balance. He warned that especially as summer nears its end, a check-up should be performed to prepare for winter.

Explaining that certain diseases are more likely to be triggered during these periods of hot and humid weather, Specialist Dr. Tanrıver said: "The warnings issued by meteorology authorities show us that scorching temperatures are at our doorstep! If you're experiencing any of these symptoms—nausea, headache, weakness, mental fog, constant fatigue—or if your urine is darkening, you're becoming dehydrated. Those with diabetes or high blood pressure should take extra precautions. There can be blood vessel expansion, blood pressure can drop, you may feel constantly weak, and we can even faint. These symptoms can lead to what we call heat stroke," he explained.

What Should Be Done to Protect from Negative Effects

Listing what needs to be done during hot weather, Specialist Dr. Tanrıver said:

"You know that 37 degrees is the normal body temperature we accept. But there are situations where it can reach 39-40 degrees. That's when we say be very careful. If your body temperature exceeds 40 degrees, you may need to go to the hospital. First, if possible, don't go outside between 11:00-16:00. Second, consume plenty of fluids—don't think that tea, coffee, and other beverages can replace water. Unfortunately, we lose an incredible amount of water through urination, breathing, and perspiration. Please be careful about this. If we do go outside, wear thin, loose, light-colored clothing. Wear a hat and protect yourself from sunlight as much as possible. Those who exercise should particularly make efforts to exercise in morning and evening hours. Eat light foods; we can eat seasonal greens and salads. We can drink plenty of soup. We can generally increase fluid consumption. Especially during these hot periods, those with chronic illnesses must be much more careful. Children, babies, and the elderly should not go outside during hours when the sun's rays hit the earth directly. Let's ensure there's air circulation in our homes. This way, we can reduce the effects of the heat. If fainting occurs, you should definitely consult your doctor."

"Fluid, Vitamin, Mineral, and Amino Acid Electrolyte Balance is Being Provided Through Intravenous Treatment (IV) Methods"

Emphasizing that the loss of fluids, minerals, vitamins, and amino acids in the body must be measured, Specialist Dr. Tanrıver stated: "This must be done under medical supervision. If necessary, if more fluid is needed than that amount, then through intravenous treatment methods, vitamin, mineral, amino acid, and electrolyte balance can be achieved. Please consult your doctor about these methods. On days when we're experiencing African-like heat, don't neglect your doctor visit."

Additionally, Specialist Dr. Tanrıver explained: "During this period, do we have a deficiency, do we not, how can we determine this? Please consult your doctor regarding questions such as whether we've experienced a problem at the cellular, tissue, or organ level. Through Tests, Screening, and Consultation, all body measurements can be made, vitamin deficiencies, mineral deficiencies, and electrolyte balance can be determined, and we can examine these at the cellular level. Using artificial intelligence, genetic tests, and perhaps much more advanced methods, we can find damage, problems, and underlying causes in our bodies and plan treatments accordingly. Is public awareness increasing? I believe yes, it is. People, especially after the pandemic, have started paying much more attention to their health. We especially recommend that these measurements be performed and medical checkups be completed as summer nears its end. To prepare for winter after summer ends, to increase our immunity at the cellular level, to complete all deficiencies, Tests, Screening, and Consultations should not be neglected," he explained.

One Way to Say the Best "Good Morning" to Your Body is Drinking Water When We Wake Up

Specialist Dr. Tanrıver stated: "Even though 67% of our body consists of water, we're constantly losing fluids. Especially in this hot weather... So what should we do? Our fluid needs change based on gender, weight, activity, and diet. But to give a general example, we recommend consuming 2.5 liters of water per day or your weight multiplied by 35 milliliters of fluid. When I say fluid, I don't mean acidic drinks, coffee, or tea. Because these unfortunately are fluids that actually increase our water needs even more. Drinking water helps break down foods we eat, repair skin, reduce forgetfulness, balance body temperature, regulate blood circulation, speed up metabolism, and increase body resistance. As for when to drink water, my first recommendation is that one of the best ways to say good morning to your body is to drink water when we wake up. Starting the day with water helps eliminate toxins. Let's definitely drink water before bed. If we drink water during meals, our digestive enzymes can unfortunately be negatively affected. It's very important to drink water before bathing. Water should be consumed at least half an hour before meals and at least 1 hour after meals, and 1 hour before sleep for cell renewal. Also, we can prefer to drink water sitting rather than standing. And one last word: during these hot periods, let's put a bowl of water in front of our homes for our small animal friends," he concluded.
