When Women Are Healthy, Their Surroundings and Society Will Also Be Healthy
The Resilience exhibition, which showcases women's strength and at the same time their struggle to be free and accepted as they are, met with art lovers under the patronage of Infinity Regenerative Clinic. Speaking at the exhibition, which also emphasized the strong connection between art therapy and healing through different images of women, Infinity Regenerative Clinic Medical Director Spec. Dr. Yildıray Tanriver said: "Bringing out the strength of women and their ability to fly with their own wings is very important to us. Because when a woman is healthy, her surroundings and society will already be healthy. We support the exhibition with this belief," he said.
Infinity Regenerative Clinic, which adopts innovative treatment methods and complementary approaches such as art therapy, supporting patients not only physically but also emotionally and spiritually, and thus aiming to improve patients' quality of life, hosts the Resilience exhibition, whose Turkish equivalent is 'resilience.' The Resilience exhibition, attended by clinic staff, press members, and many art lovers, consists of female images made by artist Zeynep Koçan using metals and different methods. Displayed in the clinic garden and hosting art lovers until October 26, the artworks tell the story of resilience shown against life's difficulties through women and draw attention to the healing power of art.
Spec. Dr. TANRIVER: IF A WOMAN IS HEALTHY, HER SURROUNDINGS AND SOCIETY WILL ALREADY BE HEALTHY
Infinity Regenerative Clinic Medical Director Spec. Dr. Yildıray Tanriver emphasized the positive effects of art in healing processes and noted that the Resilience exhibition reflects this approach. Spec. Dr. Tanriver said: "As a clinic, we prioritize holistic health, that is, health management. Getting to the root causes of diseases and even more importantly, taking preventive measures before getting sick are among our main objectives. When we look at the relationship between art and health, two factors are very important here. First, medicine is an art and medical practice is a craft. Second, art has a healing and therapeutic power. It is healing for both the one who practices it and the one who comes into contact with it with all five senses," he said.
Noting that they will continue to be involved with art, Spec. Dr. Tanriver said: "Here, when we look at it, we are talking about 'Resilience,' that is, resilience and the power of women. Bringing out the strength of women and their ability to fly with their own wings is very important to us. Because when a woman is healthy, her surroundings and society will already be healthy. We support this exhibition with this belief, and more such work from us will come," he said.
KARTAL: ALL THE FREE-SPIRITED WOMEN YOU SEE IN THE WORKS HERE ARE NARRATORS OF OUR STRUGGLE
Şehrinaz Kartal, Vice President Responsible for Marketing and Health Investments at Açık Holding, explained how the idea came about:
"As Açık Holding, we are a group that works closely with art. We had previously made the exhibition 'Pioneer Women of the Republic.' While making that exhibition, I met Zeynep Koçan. She had a dignified, defiant, beautiful female statue that belonged to her. I was very impressed and then I saw that her perspective aligned with ours. Then we had the intention to make an exhibition together and decided to do it at the clinic. After long studies, Zeynep held her exhibition at our clinic and we exhibited it for the first time here. We thank her for this."
Speaking about female images and the purpose of the exhibition, Kartal said: "Woman is a very sensitive issue. Not only for our country but for the whole world, and it is not a new issue. Simone de Beauvoir once said 'Femininity is being the second sex.' Nothing has changed and it still is. We are struggling hard for this. All the free-spirited women you see in the works here are narrators of this struggle, and we are displaying the spirits of those free women and we take this issue very seriously," she said.
KOÇAN: THE WOMEN IN MY WORKS ARE COURAGEOUS WOMEN WITH THEIR HEADS HIGH AND CHESTS OUT
Artist Zeynep Koçan, the creator of the works, noted that her inspiration comes from women who show the courage to create their own future with their creative plans, saying: "Despite the coercive system that negatively affects women's position and freedom in society, women question their personal destiny and at the same time break the female roles that have come down from the past to the present. Women who struggle in this sense are my inspiration. In my works, I question women's position in society and therefore the women in my works are generally proud, dignified, proud, courageous, and brave women," she said.
'CONTRIBUTING TO THE PERSON'S INNER JOURNEY AND HEALING WAS OUR COMMON GOAL WITH THE CLINIC'
Koçan spoke about how the power of art and health brought her and Infinity Regenerative Clinic together:
In my works, the power and awareness of women are generally in the foreground, and at the clinic, they also emphasize the importance of a person, or a woman, turning inward, gaining awareness, and the healing process, and they approach holistically. I also believe in my works that a person, a woman, or a human being can turn inward, gain awareness of themselves, and unleash their potential power to heal themselves and contribute to society. Since we had two very similar goals, we came together.
THE DURABILITY OF METAL TELLS THE STORY OF WOMEN
Speaking about the creative processes of the works, Koçan said: "The work takes a long time because I also use metal and it is a technique that really requires patience. If I have a situation that motivates me a lot, I can usually finish one in a month. Since my exhibition symbolizes strength and resilience, durability also comes from the metal I use. That is, to emphasize that a woman is also durable and strong just like a metal. At the same time, we see that in my works, a woman can be strong without giving up her femininity but at the same time can be delicate and aesthetic," she said.
'AS LONG AS A PERSON PRODUCES, THEY CAN REVEAL THEIR HOPE AND POTENTIAL'
Koçan finally talked about her motivation when creating her works:
"The concept of production is very valuable to me because I believe that as long as a person produces, they can reveal their hope and potential and at the same time can dedicate themselves to a purpose. Production can sometimes be about putting forward an idea and touching people, sometimes mobilizing crowds, and sometimes taking an object and making it functional and adding meaning to it. I believe there are two ways of life in the world: those who pursue wealth and fame, and those who put their hand under the stone and continue to produce even though it puts serious hardships in their lives. I think I belong to the second group and I get my motivation entirely from here."
THE EXHIBITION WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26
Within the scope of the exhibition, clinic managers, doctors, and artist Zeynep Koçan shared the thoughts and inspirations behind their works with guests. In addition, conversations were held about how art contributes to healing processes.
The exhibition will continue to welcome art lovers in the Infinity Regenerative Clinic garden for one month.
